OUR PETS

WE PRESENTLY HAVE THREE BASSET HOUNDS:
Pineapple      6½ yrs
Mango      4 yrs
Rhubarb      1½ yrs

Pineapple's Web Site     Mango's Web Site     Rhubarb's Web Site     Our Kennel Web Site

RHUBARB @ 5 MOS

At left is "High Desert's Bugle Bay Rhubarb;"
she's Pineapple's youngest puppy.
She started her show career in November '08
(along with several of her littermates),
and finished her Championship in Nov '09.
In this photo, she's practicing her "stack,"
the required show pose; she's getting it.
She's planning her own puppies (Fall 2010).

See Rhubarb's Personal Web Site.

MANGO AT 11 MONTHS

This is Mango; she's Pineapple's older puppy.

At left she's practicing her show stack at the Lubbock,
Texas Dog Show in September 2006. She won.

CH Bugle Bay's High Desert Mango RA CGC
is her full name -- she's now an AKC Champion; see more
on her Personal Web Site.

PINEAPPLE @ 11 WKS

She's now the Mother of her own beautiful
puppies. From her 2005 litter: Mango, Kiwi,
Papaya & Pomegranate (Mango, Kiwi &
Pomegranate are AKC Champions).
Her '08 puppies are Cranberry, Blackberry,
Honeydew, Pumpkin, Rhubarb & Tangerine.

Named "Bugle Bay's Upside Down Cake,"
what could we call her but Pineapple?

CH Bugle Bay's Upside Down Cake RA CGC,
is also an AKC Champion; see her
Personal Web Site.

Here's Pineapple at 6 months, ready for Christmas.

SUGAR at 6 MONTHS

Sugar (now deceased) celebates being 1/2.

She appears to be expressing her opinion of the flavoring (mouse) which her brother (Elvis, the cat) chose for her Birthday Cake.

Her registered name was "Bugle Bay's Spoonful O Sugar".

SUGAR STACKED

This is Sugar shown "stacked" -- this is the pose she must use when competing in AKC-sanctioned dog shows. As you can tell, it's not a natural pose for any pooch, but it shows them to their best advantage for the judge. My wife (Sue), who handled Sugar (Pineapple, Mango & Rhubarb, too) in shows, is doing the stacking.

Elizabeth (@3 yrs) and Sugar (@3 mos) Watching TV...
A Cat Food Commercial!

This is Elizabeth (left) and Elvis....at rest.
Amanda is elsewhere.
Elizabeth passed away just short of her 14th birthday.

Senior hounds (Elizabeth, then 3, top;
Amanda, then 10, bottom) sunning.
(both now deceased)

Elvis (11, in formal dress) seeking
divine guidance...or something.
